Prepare the Coffee Mixture
- Start by brewing a strong cup of espresso or a coffee substitute. Allow it to cool slightly, then stir in a tablespoon of sugar until dissolved.
Whip the Cream
- In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of heavy cream and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Using an electric mixer, whip the cream until soft peaks form.
Mix the Mascarpone
- In another bowl, gently fold 1 cup of mascarpone cheese into the whipped cream.
Assemble the Layers
- Take your ladyfingers and quickly dip each one into the coffee mixture. Lay them in a single layer at the bottom of your serving dish.
Add the Cream Layer
- Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the soaked ladyfingers.
Repeat the Process
- Add another layer of dipped ladyfingers on top of the cream, followed by the remaining mascarpone mixture.
Chill the Cakes
- Cover your tiramisu cakes with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight if possible.
Garnish and Serve
- Before serving, dust the top of your tiramisu cakes with cocoa powder.
